Ingredients
- 1 cup (225g) butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2½ cups (310g) all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (50g) cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (175g) chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes with an electric mixer.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
