Homemade Chocolate Biscuits



Here's a delicious recipe for homemade chocolate biscuits:




Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225g) butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2½ cups (310g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (50g) cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (175g) chocolate chips (optional)


Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes with an electric mixer.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  5. Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
  8. Flatten slightly with the palm of your hand or the bottom of a glass.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the center is still slightly soft.
  10. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
